These are the official policies of the Iowa Gravel Series (IGS) races. All participants, volunteers, board members and vendors must adhere to these policies to stay in good standing with the IGS. Policies are in place to ensure safety, mitigate risk, and ensure consistent treatment with regard to important issues pertaining to the IGS.
Minors
The IGS allows minors, junior racers under the age of 18 years old, to ride and race in our events.
- We require that a parent or authorized adult for any minor be available on the course or at the start / finish line of the race for the entirety of the race. A responsible adult for the minor must be available for contact and respond to any support request for or on behalf of the minor.
- Board Directors, event staff, volunteers, or any other non-authorized adult is allowed to be alone with a minor at any time. Whenever possible, parents or an authorized adult should accompany minors and provide assistance. If a minor is in need of support or assistance, at least two adults should accompany each other while with the minor.
