Great races take a group of people working together. That’s true if you’re in the race or putting on the race. For the last few years, the Omaha Velo team has been an amazing supported and partner in producing the Solider Cutoff Hillduro. They have provided the best aid station that comes right before the (arguably) most challenging climb on any race in Iowa.
For 2024, Omaha Velo is more involved than ever and to recognize that involvement, we’re making them a presenting sponsor for the race! 🎉 You’ll see their name on the event and in more of our posts online.
We’re also big supporters of the Louisville Classic, which is Omaha Velo’s race. It blew us away last year and we can’t wait for next year, so save the date April 12, 2024
What is a presenting sponsor?
Some races have a presenting sponsor as the primary monetary donor for the race. And, maybe at some point an Iowa Gravel Series race will get to that point. But, what we see more important for a race sponsor and partner is “skin in the game”. A presenting sponsor is a group that:
- Provides aid station support
- Helps promote the race
- Provides volunteer staff at registration
- Gives their time and energy to make the day great
When we look at this list, and some of these things are not very specific, they are what’s important to create a really good experience. So, having more presenting sponsors is something we’re looking for. The Iowa Gravel Series stays grassroots by having the community actively involved and supporting each other.
