The one that started it all

In March of 2020 we posted the listing for the first Glenwood Gravel Grinder… and then the whole world shut down. Fortunately, as a new ride with a committed staff and full support from the community, we were able to host almost 100 riders & volunteers in Glenwood and maintain social distancing practices and keep people safe. We worked with smart and careful people and found a way to have a great day in the saddle, even during a pandemic.

Putting on that first race inspired us to come back and do more. We wanted to explore more of Iowa, give more people (both new and experienced) an opportunity to ride new cool roads, but know that someone has checked the course and has their back in case of trouble.

So, here we are again and we want to make it just a bit bigger (not too big) and even better if we can. So, this year we’ve add a new distance and a new restaurant to the race. And… you hear that right, this year it is a race. There will be a podium and we’re working on getting you some great prizes to acknowledge your hard work and make this day in the saddle just that much more rewarding.
